This evening when i went to the farm for a slight check-up on my animals ,vegetables ,plantain and poultry session. I quickly thought of increasing my vegetable farming practices which I intended doing for a very long time because it raining season here you have to be very hard working and be fast in very thing you do as a farmer. There was a plan B that came up to my mind which was transplanting more of Malabar Spinach. Although there are some few other names people call this particular vegetable which are Amunututu Meaning ( a cool appetizer to the stomach) that's for a yoruba local language. Also, A wall Climbers meaning (Toromoganna) .These are some proof to show what I have done.

_ Those Malabar Spinach plant you saw are right inside the Box which serves as a Bed for which I initially made for raising the Malabar seeds for great and multiple yield before transplant could be made._

Steps And Procedure

These are the tools i made use of, Cutlass and Hoes. I used the cutlass to made a made a deep holes into the ground and I made sure it well dug so as for the Malabar Spinach to have a strong support and root.

Few more steps to go

The Malabar Spinach is ready to begin a new life and to bring more fresh yield for consumption

The last stage and procedure I did here was making the use of hoe to gather earth around the Malabar Spinach plants to give stronger support and more nutrient intake

The Bottom-line

I transplanted Malabar Spinach right from the nursery bed and also from the tender stage because it has less root to hold the soil so as for this reason, easy to transplant. And also, when vegetables are in early stage of life they are easy to transplant because they are less prone to disease attack and the percentage loss is lesser as well. The health benefits are as follows -

  • High in Calcium
  • High in Iron
  • Good source of Vitamin A, vitamin B and Vitamin C.
  • Malabar Spinach is Rich in Protein
