Tips on how to transplant a plant without damaging it. @FARMS

in #farms6 years ago

Hello my friends #steemians, especially my friends of @farms, I hope they are well and have a day full of blessings, today I want to share very useful information for all those who have our gardens at home, and it is about how to transplant so correct our plants without damaging them.

Well, although it seems an easy task, it is not, because how to transplant a plant has a direct impact on both your health and your development. It is a task of great importance, for which you should pay special attention, whether we want to do it directly to the ground or if the transplant is to a larger or larger pot.

We must bear in mind that transplants do not only respond to a personal desire to see a plant in a certain place either from our particular house or our garden, but also, it is due to the observation of it, because if a plant has stopped growing or its roots are seen through the drainage holes of the pot, probably due to lack of space and this is why it is time to transplant.

Although, when observing this situation we know that it is time to do it, it is important to take into account some factors before the transplant that are fundamental for the plant to take root correctly in its new location, that is why I will share with you the following advice that I hope in practice when transplanting one of your plants.

TWO MOTIVES OF IMPORTANT WEIGHT TO KEEP IN MIND IMPORTANT FOR THE TRANSPLANT ARE THE SUBSTRATE AND THE LOCATION

Well, as I have already mentioned on other occasions, not all plants have the same substrate requirements, that is why we must ensure that the substrate is the one required by our plant, because this is vital for your transplant. And almost as important as this, is to choose correctly where we will transplant the plant. If we are going to transplant directly into the garden, it is important that we check that there is nothing that can impede their growth, as well as choose a place that meets their needs.

If your new location is in a pot, we must take into account the size and material of the same for some time not having to do this work again, if the plant is still developing, like the drainage of it it is of vital importance for its development.

CHOOSE WHEN TO TRANSPLANT

A favorable moment is not too cold but avoiding the moment when the vegetative growth has already started. For these reasons and except for the particularities of each plant, choosing the end of winter is an ideal time to perform transplants, we should never transplant the plants when they are starting to bloom, because we can stop the flowering.

PREPARE ROOTS FOR TRANSPLANTATION

When transplanting, we must check the roots. To begin with, we have to be very careful when removing the plant from the pot in which it is (so as not to damage them, something we will achieve by tilting the pot until the plant detaches from its walls); and, if it is a plant that is on land, we will have to select a good size root ball around the roots. Then we must untangle the roots which will help the plant to take root in its new location. With this we will not only help the plant to root better in its new location, but it also eliminates the caked substrate that may be in them. To finish you should check the humidity of these, and in the case that they do not have, we must wet them, always avoiding excess so as not to puddle.
