Irrigated farms and crop production will greatly contribute in rescuing our people from famine in drought stricken areas of Africa.

Drought occurrences are a re a consequence in temperature fluctuations of an area over a period of time. This usually affects the patterns of regular rainfall as such causing dryness in these areas.

source
Thus it is a consequence of climate change and usually affects crop production leading to severe famine in these affected areas, examples include the North Eastern Kenya which has been heavily heat, fear more than a million people to starvation as they have resulted and forcing them to live on wild fruits.

source
Alternatively, instead for the governments of the concerned Countries to sit back and only complain, seeking aid which majority will end up in private pockets in Africa, they should invest in irrigation as nature can always be manipulated to some degree. This has been tested in drought areas in South Africa by Pannar which for the past 60 years has been working for the interest of the farmers thus being at their forefront to ensure that their lives are improved.

source
This has been through service delivery as well as expertise advice, providing plant cultivars that are high yielding in nature, disease tolerant, tolerant drought stress etc.
Short cycled crops should always be considered for cultivation, as well as proper soil tillage, manuring as this will greatly guarantee high yields thus rescuing people from the claws of famine within a shortest possible time. This is because it does not matter the type of cultivation practice one applies, but there is one uncompromising factor which is the seed must make good contact with the soil.

source
Maize crop as an example of choice is widely been consumed the world over, is has a short cycle of 4-5 months depending on the cultivar and climatic patterns of the concerned area. It can equally be rotated with grain legumes in order to improve on the soil fertility of the area.

source
In such areas crop yield will always be guaranteed provided basic agronomic practices are carried out and respected as well such as timely planting, proper soil tillage, plant population density, planting distances, timely weeding, pests control(timely), timely manuring, harvesting, use of improved plant cultivars or seed material etc.
Rather than sit and watch people starve to death, we can work with research institutions to have this achieved thereby rescuing our people from famine, as farming is a great miracle of nature. We can therefore improve the lives of others in practice, then we have rescued the world from famine. At Pannar, together we farm for the future.
Thanks for reading and supporting.

Thanks so much @wafrica for the support always.

Small scale, mixed crop, organic farming empowers families, people and communities - and supports the ongoing fertility of Mother Earth.

Yes you are right, at least it enable the soil regain its fertility through natural processes, not forgetting crop rotation with legumes as well.

GMO crops! fund a local GMO crop seed production, so african nations can cheaply produce them and not be dependent on other countries.

Yes, really that is the point Sir, thanks for the contribution.

please have a look at this. i think that report will give you a boner.
