HEALTHY FRUITS: APPLE MONDAYS

in #farms6 years ago

Blessings friends and brothers of SteemChurch and farms, this week number four we will be with the healthy fruits and we have started with a really delish one so let's start and talk about "THE APPLE"

The apple is a fruit produced by the apple tree, a tree belonging to the Rosaceae family. This fruit comes from a flower that has an inferior compound ovary, unlike most of the Rosaceae that has super ovaries.

The name "apple" refers to the name given initially by Linnaeus, Pyrus malus (same gender of the pear but no longer belongs to him). Currently the apples are grouped within the genus Malus. Mention has been made of them since the time of the Romans, Greeks and in mythology they are frequently recognized as symbols of eternal youth. References of apple crops are known from the year 300 a. C.

The apple is a typical knob, edible, which has remains of chalice at the apex, the skin can have different colors from yellow, to orange or red and its size depends on the variety.

Plant

The apple tree is a small tree that does not reach more than 10 m in height, although at a commercial level varieties are used that are smaller, to facilitate the harvest and other farming operations. They also have the advantage that the fruits are more exposed to the sun than in large trees and their quality is better because of that.

The plant forms a globular crown and has a straight trunk, which can reach 2.5 m in height. The bark of the older parts of the tree is scaly and grayish in color; On the other hand, in the young branches it is ash-colored with some greenish hue and has small pores, called lenticels, which allow gas exchange with the atmosphere.

The flowers are showy, they open a few days before the leaves appear, which gives the tree a striking appearance when it is in full bloom. The petals can be white to light pink.

The average life of an apple tree ranges between 60 and 80 years, although in commercial plantations it can be reduced by half or even less.

Reasons why we should eat apples

It hydrates our body since it has a high water content, around 80% of its composition).

It is diuretic, reduces fluid accumulation, leg cramps and feet cramps, high blood pressure, due to its large amount of potassium.

Among its vitamins, it has those of group E, known to be strong antioxidants.

By having soluble and insoluble fibers, it can be used both in people with constipation and with diarrhea. In the first case it is necessary to consume it raw and with a shell and in the second, roasted or in the form of compote. The peel of the apple has pectin that protects the intestinal mucosa. If you wash it well, you will not have to peel it to enjoy all the benefits at a digestive level. Studies reveal that pectin plays a decisive role in preventing certain types of cancer, such as colon cancer.

The components of the apple

The secret of the apple and its benefits are in its phytochemical substances that, in addition to preventing cancer, as already indicated, help reduce blood sugar and fat levels. Therefore, it is advisable that diabetics and people with cholesterol consume at least two apples a day. This fruit allows you to purify and cleanse the blood.

One of the apple's phytochemicals is quercetin, which helps prevent cardiovascular problems, inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma and even muscle contractures.

The apple, in turn, has acids such as tartaric and malic, which help to better digest the fats we consume. For this reason it is advisable to eat this fruit as a dessert after a copious intake, either at noon or at night. Also, it does not allow glucose to increase rapidly after meals.

What does the apple?

It is perfect for people who are dieting or suffering from some anxiety disorder for food. This is because the apple satisfies our appetite and prevents us from overeating. You can eat the amount you want a day without restriction, as it will help you lose weight and feel more energetic but not the only thing you eat all day.

The apple increases cognitive abilities by its contribution of sugars beneficial to the brain. It could be said that eating a fruit before going to school or studying for an exam is like Popeye spinach. The mental capacities will increase, we will be more productive, we will remember more data and we will be able to perform more in any field.

If we have to choose the healthiest or most beneficial apple, without a doubt, the red one wins the first prize. This does not mean that the others are not good for our health, but that the reddish color has more antioxidants.
