How do we choose resistance to the dominant consumer culture? Do we even resist or is it in our interest to dive deeply into the collective dissociation from our global distress?

These days it’s impossible to ignore our collective shrug towards issues larger than ourselves. Whether it’s the human beings in our daily lives who suffer the harms of social neglect or the people who we will never meet who have already slaved away their formative years so we can enjoy our morning breve mocha, there are people who will have suffered through their lives so that I can enjoy the relative poverty and destitution of my life.

There is a tremendous disparity between the rich and the poor on this earth, those who have no money suffer the caustic landscape created by the whims of the wealthy. The poor exist in servitude providing every comfort for the wealthy, while going without the most basic comforts such as running water or electricity.

Making the previous declaration about “basic comforts” really is an example of the privilege that I enjoy.

I live a life of poverty, by standards in the USA extreme poverty. I don’t have a home with these basic comforts. It’s beyond my means. Don’t get me wrong, I could chase the brass ring and continue to perpetuate the destruction of this land that I love. I have made plenty of money in my life, and I do make money. I just choose to exist with less. I choose to burn fewer watts and less fuel in the pursuit of what I believe is important.

I can’t imagine myself having a home, with a spare room and keeping it empty for in case. Not when I know there are grandmothers and grandfathers sleeping in alley ways. In the same way I cannot imagine burning more fuel when I know there are children running scared because of drones built and flown from the USA allowing me my daily gallon of E85.

Because of the disparity of resources our communities are being torn apart. The poor people are being further marginalized and the wealthy continue to create greater walls and stronger private security forces to keep the others at bay. Human behaviors like sitting, standing and sleeping have been criminalized. The poor are singled out for special attention by the police. So in essence the wealthy can poison our air, water and soil causing death for hundreds of thousands of years while the poor are incarcerated because they can’t afford to bond themselves out on a jaywalking ticket.

There is a Lord of the flies feeling in the air. This is a very scary time to be an impoverished and homeless person in the USA. The laws which are being put in place prevent discrimination on the grounds of color, sex, religion, age or ethnicity, but the discrimination against the poor is engraved in law.

The prosecutors are going after the poor, the disenfranchised and the people who lack the resources to make a stand for their dignity. Meanwhile ignoring the crimes of the ruling class. With the Kavanaugh appointment and confirmation we see clearly the direction our minority government is taking the world. They are creating a place in the USA where rape and murder are acceptable. That is if you are a private school graduate, if you are the owner of a nuclear power plant or other ecological catastrophe in the making, then it’s ok to harm people. The boys are circling the fire with their spears and the word “Piggie” is readily substituted for “Libtard” or any other derogatory term cooked up by those who would see our country slide into civil war.

The extent to which we have been effectively divided is astonishing. Left, Right and middle all require the same basic essentials for life. We begrudge each other these resources and act as if there isn’t enough to go around. We actually have hungry people and people going without medicine and shelter in the USA, not because there isn’t enough to go around, but because the people in power have already effectively put in place controls which are removing entire sections of the population from the planet, as William Cooper said “Soft kills in silent wars” are being carried out on a massive scale, and the public remains largely unaware of it. We get so focused in on our own personal reality that the larger picture is lost. Once your eyes begin to open to the larger picture you will see our government is enacting fascist laws which are meant to ethnically and spiritually cleanse the nation. They are moving forward with the new world order with very little resistance, in fact they have co-opted the phrase “the resistance” for their cabal of banksters puppets and warmongers.

This time of year we see how effectively our overlords have been at dividing us. Not only on the left vs right fight on the ballots, but also in the form of people from both sides blaming the people who have lost faith in the system for not participating.

The people who don’t vote have come to a place which many are moving towards, a place where the actions of the government have become so blatantly self serving that the voter has every right to feel abandoned. Now with the use of corrupt secretary of states there is a wholesale disenfranchisement of the people who still do care enough to head to their polling places. These corrupt officials misuse their position as administrator of the elections to purge would be voters who could change the political landscape. This next level manipulation has been ongoing for decades. There is a genuine agenda to remove voters from the rolls and insulate fascist religious conservatives from accountability to the voters of their districts. Seems like a pretty far fetched story on the face of it, but for those of us who have been following along the slide into fascism has been pronounced, dramatic and violent.
