Often times, I hear people say they are not afraid and will never be because, they are bold and have that ability to not be afraid.

Well, they have a point and I am sure they seriously got it covered. But I think it is a wrong notion to keep your mind like you have nothing to fear.

Courage is not formed in a man because he has a heart of stone or because he is mighty. Courage in a man is the product of how he was able to against all odds, overcome his fear of the things that has made him stay scared.
Being scared or afraid of something is not a weakness, and it doesn't in any way mean you are inadequate, (which is what many feel). This attitude is responsible for why men who ordinarily should be winners fail. Life is not supposed to be lived in denial. Man must not subject himself to failing through hurtful pride.
Being scared means, you just identified something standing as an obstacle and if not tackled, may bring you down. You can only fight what you know needs to be fought.
The heroes of our time are those who stared adversity right in the eyes and worked out a way to overcome. You cannot be courageous if nothing scares you; so it is okay to be scared.

Fear is part of being a human because it is in our senses and saying that a person has no fear, could mean he is inhuman.

Its ok to be afraid, but never let your fear overwhelm you... If you do, it will becloud your sense of reasoning and judgement.
This is absolutely correct. As a matter of fact its a natural thing to be afraid,however, knowing how to specifically fight your fears,face your storms brings out the courageous ability in you.
