Random Act Of Kindness

Random Act Of Kindness Of Strangers During Your Travels

With this post, we want to explore new ways of interacting with our readers. We'd like to encourage existing Steemit readers to leave comments in which they share their stories, but also hope that long time readers of our blog will consider finally signing up for a Steemit account. Since money (Steem Dollars) makes the world go around, we’ve decided to give out a prize to our favorite comment participating in this challenge.

We normally share our travel experience but this time we want to hear from you as well. Share with us a random act of kindness, something unexpected, something which totally surprised you and restored your faith in humanity. Write a comment, add picture and videos, or even drawings and that’s it! We will reward our favorite story about a random kind act of kindness. Of course totally subjective but, hey, it’s our challenge.

We encountered unexpected kindness many times throughout our travels. One of the most memorable occurred while we were having street food in Hanoi.

stiicky Rice Hanoi

We were staying in a hotel, nearby the Hanoi train station, and were on the hunt for great street food (just like every evening). The day earlier, we had noticed this sticky rice place right behind our hotel, so we went over and sat down. Nearby was a family with a seven-year-old boy. The father encouraged him to come over and talk to us, in order to practice his English. He was the sweetest kid and and his English was really good. He had been learning, because his family was about to send off all by himself to the United States. Anyways, he sat down at our table and we had fun chatting with him. After his family had finished eating, they stood up, said goodbye and left. A few minutes later, when we got up to pay, the lady of the stand said not to worry about it, because the family had taken care of our bill. ❤️ ❤️

Have you experienced anything like this? Please leave a comment. If this little contest seems to be popular, we'll try and do more of them, and possibly offer more prizes. We’re going to announce the winner of the "Random Act of Kindness" challenge coming Wednesday.

I am sure there are many acts of kindness more important than this one I'm going to write about but I'm really happy that I experienced something like this. 😄
It's when I visited with my sister and our cousin a museum and we were at the ticket office, wanting to buy the tickets. There were different prizes of the tickets because our cousin graduated the college and she won't benefit anymore of a student discount for her ticket (which was pretty big, like 80% off) but when the sweet lady from ticket office saw us she said that she don't like making differences between people and we all are too sweet not to benefit of the same discount. The thing is that after this event we had to scan our tickets to a robot so we can enter through the door but then there were another 2 amazing guys who scanned only one ticket of ours and kept the door opened until all 3 of us entered saying that we now have another 2 extra tickets for whenever we want to visit the museum again.
We all were walking for a few minutes without saying anything, we were blown away of how awesome some people can be. I know that maybe it's not too much but it's something that moved me a little and made my heart beat faster wanting to actually run to these people and hug all of them. 😊
Here is a picture with us in the museum being very happy for that day. ♥️

I loved the story but decided to chose a winner randomly. Thank you for participating but maybe I do something like this again.

No problem and thank you for reading. It was a great contest 😊

Kindness is one attribute that is uncommon in Nigeria this days, but here's my story...
On a bright Saturday morning I had my university entrance examination in Uyo,a City in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria and I was coming from Calabar in Vtiss River State,a sister state to Akwa Ibom, during the journey I had with me motivational books, which I took to read ,and there was this married woman beside me looking all bored and fed up with the long journey on noticing her I stretched out my hand bearing a book with caption " why you act the way you do "
She got interested and accepted the book that book formed the basis of our friendship ,when we got to the park we exchanged contacts and she instructed me to give her a call after my examination, after my examination I had less cash and it was too late to travel home, I didn't even have enough money for a hotel room or guesthouse to pass the night, as I was lost in thoughts I remembered I gave her a call and she sent someone to bring me to her house, there I lodged till the next day she hosted me very well and gave me transport fare back home,it was then I understood that reaching is only to the less privileged but also to people that are older because we never know what someone is going through whose solution can be you.....

That such a cute topic!

The first thing that came to my mind was an old Thai lady who gave a ride on her scooter.

I've been living in Thailand for a few years. If you know, Asia is full of scooters. I think before they learn how to walk Asian children learn how to ride:)

Unfortunately, I'm afraid of this traffic. So I can't ride, I prefer to walk. Though due to the constant heat, it can be unbearable 😌

Once I was walking to the school where I taught, and the welcoming Thai sun tried to make my trip as warm as possible. So I decided to take a taxi. I waved to a person wearing something orange (the taxi drivers at that place always wear some kind of orange uniform to get noticed perhaps). The driver stopped. And I saw that it was an old lady just wearing an orange something 😊 and not a taxi driver. I should also admit that I have a poor eyesight.

I tried to explain my confusion and to apologize. That lady gave me a ride and didn't accept any money for that.

Such simple things like offering somebody your help can actually make his day. Let's be kind to each other 😊

I love situations like this - a mistake and then you get connect with other people and experience something unexpected. All the submissions were great to I decided to chose a winner randomly. Maybe next time you will walk away as the winner. Thank you for participating.
