Have you ever strained your neck enough to make your eyeball twitch by patting yourself on the back too hard? Yeah, neither have I. Counting this contender, I released four articles this week, that’s a record for me. I had every intention of releasing five, it’s all about the rep—mine seems to be stagnant. I even had one ready to go on Wednesday when this happened and I was so humbled by it I chose to bask in my own reflection for a day—hump day’s are good for that. There’s a point to this paragraph, It’s in the next paragraph—my arm hurts.

I was attempting to achieve two things: #1. I wanted to put myself in position to snag one of these custom signatures. I’m not actively looking to counterfeit one or anything either and, #2. I was curious to see if I could attract some #new followers—remember those? Results: I have an appointment tonight with Photoshop, we’re meeting at a speak-easy joint with a secret hand shake and a coded 1-4-3 knock on the dingy basement door. As far as #2, well... I lost one! Hey, you. You, who washed your hands clean of dandays, yeah, you! You missed the dessert round.

Sugar-free, dairy-free, gluten and grain free, black bean & cacao brownies. 1/2 stuffed with Pura Vida made peanut butter and topped with unsalted peanuts—the other half unstuffed and topped with shredded coconut. Eh, what’s up food fighters, happy Friday chefs—what’s up #steemit?! My favorite Friday of the week—it’s nice to be back.

Empty 200 grams of frijoles negros into a strainer and rinse them real good before placing them in a bowl of agua where they’ll soak for about ocho horas. Put your beans and 1/2 cup of cacao plus several other ingredients: coconut oil, a shot of strongly brewed coffee, sea salt, cinnamon and stevia in the food processor for dos minutos. From the food processor, we’ll scrape out all of the black bean and cacao chocolate into the blender and run it through all of the cycles. Continue doing that until you have a nice and silky-smooth chocolate brownie mix. Muy importante right here, eyes forward! You don’t want to do something like forget to take pictures of the chocolate being whipped into shape inside the food processor and then the blender, I mean, could you imagine??

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Pour your frijoles negros chocolate into your cake cups. We added a thin layer of peanut butter about half way through the pour and then topped them off with more chocolate and nuts/coconut. Bake them for 16-18 minutos or until the knife you poked it with comes out clean.

Just a few blocks down from another joint that actually has “joint” in the name of their restaurant—Taco Joint. And you know how I feel about clocks.

They’re both located in Jaco, a beach town we spent some time at earlier this week, here in Costa Rica, known for its top surfing conditions and nightlife. We went to Pita eh! :time out: you don’t want to ‘repeat,’ you do not want to typo ‘U’ for an ’I’ in Pita—huge difference! :time in: We went to Pita Loca for lunch. You know what they have at Pita Loca? Falafel! I’m a falafel connoisseur for those of you just tuning in, I know what I’m having—a falafel pita and French fries.

We hung out on this pile of boulders at Jaco Beach for a little while, just the two of us, enjoying the views. Before the sun went down, we were joined by an iguana on the next rock over. Pura Vida and I, along with the iguana, enjoyed another sunset.

I have one more picture to show you, it’s called “I saved the best for last.” It’s the same sunset at the exact same time, I just angled my phone slightly. What happened was, a little girl who was probably 10 or 11 years old walked out to the shallow water, just far enough to get her toes wet. She had a tall wooden stick in her left hand and a plastic, navy blue bucket in her right—she’s crab hunting. I snapped this picture because I liked the shadow she was casting. It wasn’t until I looked at it again the following day I realized it was the best one.

Howdy sir dandays! Those brownies..did you guys invent those? I've never heard of such a thing but would love to try them, my gosh they look amazing. Taco Joint! lol..and the pita place takes bitcoin! wow. I don't even know how you would pay with bitcoin, I need to get educated.

You know, most of the dishes I’ll write about are that way, they’re new to us too. Pura Vida is on such a restrictive diet right now she’s experimenting with alternate avenues of cooking. No sugar, as in, none! Since November!! Crazy, huh? I’ve never considered such a thing and seeing it with my own eyes, it’s extremely challenging.

The photos, I gotta level with you, Janton.. psst It’s tough to take a bad one! That shot of the little girl, though. That’s a pat on the back picture.

The bitcoin sticker was just a sticker, someone put it there, they don’t actually accept Bitcoin—yet! Man, I’m telling you, if the car dealer accosted Bitcoin, that would’ve been great!! But.. Are you saying you don’t have any wallets other than this one? Are you not into cryptocurrency at all? Trading goods for Bitcoin is simple, you don’t even have a coinbase wallet or BitPay, none? At least that’s what I’m assuming. So, why don’t you?

About a crypto wallet..I have an account with Coinbase but haven't used them since they stopped taking credit cards. In real estate we had several companies use the ACH system with our bank so we figured we'd do that. So we got a separate account set up, I went on Coinbase but instead of just getting our account number and the name of our bank they wanted the login details of our main account. So we're like..no way.

Another guy told me that he uses ACH with Coin base but he only had to give them his account number. So does that make sense? Any suggestions? Mrs. J hates wire transfers, that's why we decided to set up an account for the ACH method.

Eh, iguanas here, I’m not exaggerating, they’re like squirrels in California—frikkin everywhere! Even road kill, iguanas, everywhere. The first place we stayed at while we were here there was 2 iguanas fighting for the territory on the roof. The iguana that list literally got shoved off of the roof! It was awesome!

Tasty?! Say what?? Probably the same people who eat cats and dogs bro, I’d steer clear of them. Dogs are good protection and excellent companionship in my opinion and, although I’m not a fan of cats, they’re great for mice control. I still wouldn’t eat’em.

See, they warm you up by grilling highly intelligent household pets and next they’re frying up some iguana. Keep your guard up when they try to talk you into eating animals with more intelligence than dogs like a pig or a bird or something. 😉

I wanted to revisit this one as well.

First off i massively appreciate you and @puravidaville! You two have been a light in my world.

So to my opinion...

The number of cats and dogs that get euthanized could feed the world. They probably dont taste half bad smh lol.

In a native American mindset, some buddhism, and a dash of science, we are what we eat. If i am going to eat an animal id prefer it to be happy and intelligent.

I am against the barbaric practices of modern day farming. I am also pro protein & fat as they are essential nutrients and carbs are not.

I am also fully aware you can thrive on veganism as the shaolin munks do (who are super badass and live upwards towards the 100's). Although there are some nutrients that can be lacking.

I think the wild iguanas around here are very nutrient dense and from what ive "seen" quite tasty.

Yeah, about eating habits, they’re trippy aren’t they? Our whole lives we go and we eat wheat we’re taught. At some point, we realize something like ‘wait a minute.. the people who taught me what I know didn’t know anything!

This is almost embarrassing to admit bro but I didn’t even realize the protein in animals is all recirculated! “Fool me once—shame on me.” <—I know that’s not the official version but that’s how I say it. I guess I always thought that we (humans), cows, pigs, etc was just born with protein. Like I said, I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I didn’t know cows get their protein by eating grass. They aren’t born with protein, nor are pigs, chickens, fish, etc. they’re born starving of nutrients. The sun and water hits the earth, a plant is grown through photosynthesis, the cow eats it, now that protein is inside the cow—fascinating! Why in the F I never learned that one in school is beyond me.

Another thing they didn’t teach me in school is carbohydrates clear arteries and strengthen veins whereas protein does the opposite and clogs veins leading to health risks. But I guess without the abundant uses of proteins, hospitals would keep their doors closed and heart attacks wouldn’t be normal.

In fact, had Carnegie and Morgan and those guys, back in the 18th century realized their fortune could be built off of Carbs, I don’t believe protein would be the leader in propaganda.

I’m glad she won bro, she’s been getting pretty discouraged lately and actually wasn’t even going to do a food fight. It took awhile and I was like “don’t stop this one! Dude I get discouraged too so she isn’t alone. Seeing just pennies for hours of effort and then running across a photo and a sentence getting $20. That is a big part of why I started the @splatz, when I see people putting forth a good amount of effort they get splatted. I hoping to see people calling out the @splatz account sometimes. I’m going to start doing it with my main account.

The picture of the girl in the surf is worthy of being entered in some kind of contest. It's like when you spend hours preparing a gourmet meal and an unsuspecting ear of corn steals the show. It' that good!

I’m glad you think so vicci, it’s not just me then. I was just telling Splatts how I photoshopped it to say ”Pura Vida” across the top but I erased it. Natural was the only way to go with that one.
