Valarie's interest in the vocation of the goldsmith began to soar day after day. With time, she began to frequent the local goldsmith's shop for an on-the-spot fact finding. This happened after she graduated from the university where she studied applied chemistry. There was only one goldsmith in the town close to where she lived and Valarie was poised to be known in her town and beyond as one who could put back shine on objects that had faded like earring wedding rings, and other similar things.

She thought within her breath, "those who own and use ornaments will be my clients, they will visit my shop to drop items for refinement or to collect what they had dropped before.

She was curious to learn something each time she went to the goldsmith's shop. She had watched carefully everything the man was doing to purify people's jewelry; noting his working tools which consisted of anvil and furnace among others.

The goldsmith burnt metals to the desired temperature with fire from the furnace. That was also the process which enabled him to remove the dross from the metals; making them to look new again. He hammered different shapes of metals into any shape of his choice with the anvil while coal provided the fire he needed.

All these fascinated Valarie and spur her desire to become a goldsmith. She began to practice all she learned from the other goldsmith's shop.

One day, she began to think...
"Of all human activities, it seems as if none portrays the maker in relation to humans more than that of the goldsmith,"

Certainly, if there is any human endeavor whereby the world can perceive the Maker, it is that of the goldsmith, for, as everyone knows, the work of the goldsmith is to recover the original quality of the metal he is working on.

In the process of refining, there are always something to gain and something to lose. The impurities must go for the quality of the gold to stand out.

Refining either restores the original quality of gold in the original shape or in a brand new shape.

The dross on gold that calls for refinement perfectly portrays human impurities that must be removed.

As the dross makes gold or other metals ugly, human impurities do same. They render human offensive before the maker hence the need for refining.

Wow you deserve a medal for this #winks

I agree with you, the goldsmith does portray the Maker. He remolds us every time we feel not god enough and then we just wake up one day beaming with smiles and feeling more than enough.
