In the real world, she was born into a lower middle class family in one of the suburbs of Chicago. Her world had never been real. She wouldn’t allow it. The real world was harsh and mean, so she blocked it: denied it.

She found her home a century or two ago in a magical land that looked a lot like northern Germany. She imagined living in peace before the notion of world war. Her romantic illusions clouded all violence from her mind.

She lived alone in a cozy cabin. The dense forest behind her home blocked stormy weather altogether. It was a place to think and dream of what once was and what might be again. If only.

From time to time she had to face reality. Her job at the corner shop required that she face the noise of the city, but at the end of her shift, she would hurry to her place of solitude. She knew her way home. If he was there, there would be a light in the window.

This image reflects your words exactly. Very Nice

Hard to find a place in this world where there is complete peace.

In todays world peace can be found at home if you cut off the internet and TV then peace will surround you.

Notice the lack of tech in the art and in the fantasy setting.
