Entry 22

She opened her eyes in her world, once again - not by choice. How was this happening? Was she being ...summoned?

She stilled herself completely. Eyes closed. Panic and desperation had not served her. She needed to get back in control and stop allowing situations to dictate her emotions. Easier said than done. Soft, full breathing of her physical body mirrored the same process happening with her energy. Instead of the frenetic activity that buzzed with chaos, all of the atoms in her vicinity pulsed and flowed with harmony. If there was a heartbeat of the universe, she was in tune with it. Calm and at peace, she opened herself to everything around her, letting it flow through her. She sampled every bit of essence in the air and listened, letting it speak to her instead of demanding its obedience.

There.

Different.

It wasn't the voice from earlier. It was something else. Something behind it. Surrounding it. Radiating through it.

Not like anything she had sensed here before. It was... everywhere. In everything. It had called her. So powerful, but so interconnected with everything, it was almost easy to miss. But how had she never felt this growing up? It couldn't have been here all along! She would have recognized it at some point. No, this was... new.

She opened her eyes and tried to take it in. Now, she could see it. It was like watching the wind move through the tall grass on a field, or seeing the beauty of the waves. Every molecule moved as if joined together by some unseen force. It was like a symphony.

There was some distinct quality there; she knew it. It was on the tip of her tongue, but so elusive. Why? What was her brain preventing her from seeing and accepting? She thought back to the other world, and how the power of suggestion and expectations was so strong. Maybe she was rejecting it unintentionally. She closed her eyes again and tried to open herself to embracing... there! Again, she felt it and was almost able to isolate it enough to identify it.

Instead of identifying it, she tried describing it. It was so ethereal, so beautiful. The epitome of love. Such warmth. And... pride? That was odd. Trust. Long-awaited recognition. Like diving heart-first into a hug. Falling, and being caught. Able to be vulnerable. Almost that feeling when you come home to...

Her eyes flung open.
