Paul excused himself to go to the bathroom and as he walked past her he smelled her perfume, and it smelled so familiar and intriguing. A memory flashed through his head and he had to lean against the wall to keep his balance. His memories took him back about twelve years ago.

There was a girl that worked in the same office that he did.  They greeted each other every morning but there was not much more. He didn't even know her name. Then there was this office party one evening and everyone drank too much. He had to get some fresh air and he found her there on the roof.

Neither of them said anything, but they were attracted like magnets.  They were drawn to each other and they couldn't keep their hands of each other. They ended up in her apartment and it was a night that he would remember for the rest of his life.  He felt like he was under a spell for the rest of the weekend, but when he arrived at the office on Monday morning, her desk was empty.

She had transferred to another office and he never saw her again. Later on he was transferred to the New York office and he met Jenny a few years later. That was clearly not working out.

He rinsed his hands and walked back to the bar. She was still sitting there, drinking her wine, and she smiled when he took a seat next to her. He looked her straight in the eyes, and smiled back. He was drawn to her as much as he was that night.

"I remember you...." he said. She smiled, and held out her hand to him.

"Samantha" she said and smiled.

They didn't talk much, and finished their drinks. She made ready to leave and he felt disappointed, but tried not to show it.

She asked for a piece of paper from the bartender and wrote something on it.  She handed it to him.  He watched her walk out the door and he opened the note.

"Suite 109 Presidential hotel. Meet you in an hour?"

He felt the excitement well up and smiled at the mere thought of spending the night with her.

He paid for the drinks and took a deep breath of fresh air as he walked out of the building. It was getting late, but he grabbed a cab and handed the note to the driver.

As he walked into the hotel, he took out his phone, and checked his messages.  There was nothing from Jenny, and he switched off his phone as he got into the elevator.

Jenny was the last person on his mind as he entered the suite.
