The disappearence of July Moore- Chapter 3

Peter finished eating and went to make himself some coffee.  He was in a different state of mind, and didn't realize that talking to a therapist could be so enlightening.  He always felt that people looked down at you if they knew you were seeing a therapist but he didn't really care anymore.  Erica helped him more today than he thought she could.

He went back to the living room and switched on the news.  It was too depressing to watch but as he was about to change the channel July's face appeared on the screen.  He didn't know if he was going crazy and turned up the volume to listen.

Police were looking for July Moore.  She was listed as a missing person. They gave a proper description of her and left a number to call for anyone with any information.

Peter was dumbstruck. Just seeing her face on the screen made him shiver. It was still a complete mystery to him. He sat thinking about it for a while and then dialed the number on the screen. He was now more certain than ever.

What if July did not leave out of her own free will? What if she was abducted by someone and they made it look like she ran away from him?

All these weird thoughts were racing through his mind and even though he tried his best to fall asleep he did not sleep a wink. He looked like a wreck when he woke up the next morning and showered just after seven and drove to the police station to meet the detective.

The detective was very helpful and appreciative that Peter came to see him. He had no idea about Peter's existence and was not even aware that July had been in any relationship.  Her parents reported her missing a few days ago, and they did not mention anything about Peter. Her parents claimed to have seen her at their beach house a few days ago, but they did not give any further information.

It was literally like July just vanished off the face of the earth.  The fact that July was a very private person did not help either. Peter has never met anyone at her work and only met her parents on one occasion.  It was very clear that they did not approve of him but July didn't seem to care about it. They never went to visit her parents, and to Peter it felt as if she was scared of them.

The detective promised to come around later that afternoon to check where she lived and if there were any clues left behind.
