Aku terkejut, tersenyum. Sebenarnya aku menunggu pertanyaan terkait lamarannya untuk diwawancarai tentang pekerjaan. Tapi pemuda berdasi ini malah bertanya soal masa kecil. Masa dua belas tahun yang lalu. Tak hanya aku, ia juga bertanya soal Karina, adik Perempuanku.

Dia mengajakku kesebuah warung nasi elit dikota ini. Banyak lauk enak disediakan disana, ikan panggang, cumi goreng, jamur creces, ayam brebes bahkan belut pepespun tersedia disana. Aku menuju musalla rumah makan itu. Yang juga ikut tersedia disana. Selesai shalat barulah kami menikmati beberapa hidangan itu.

Pemuda itu bernama Ardy Wirnato. Banyak orang memanggilnya kang Ardy. Katanya dia baru tiga tahun lulus SMA. Tapi keburu dipercaya oleh majikannya untuk mengelola perusahaan besar itu. Katanya, awalnya ia juga cukup kaget dan tidak percaya atas permintaan atasannya. Ia baru bekerja selama dua tahun, atasannya begitu berani memberikan posisi strategis itu padanya.
Setelah aku dan kang Ardy masing-masing sudah siap makan. Aku mencoba memberanikan diri untuk bertanya soal lamaranku diperusahaan itu.
"Maaf, saya hanya ingin tahu mengenai lamaran saya diperusahaan itu," katanya sambil tersenyum pelan.
"Kamu hari Senin ini sudah boleh bekerja. Aku mewawancarai calon karyawan itu hanya untuk mencari karyawan yang jujur, ulet, pekerja keras. Khusus untukmu, aku sudah tau tentang tiga hal itu. Aku percaya padamu," katanya, sambil tersenyum.
Aku berpikir, terkadang hidup begitu aneh dan lucu. Itu hanya peristiwa yang terjadi sudah cukup lama. Peristiwa kecil, peristiwa yang aku sendiri sudah melupakanya. Tapi ternyata ada juga orang yang hanya dengan urusan spele begitu dia mengingatnya seumur hidupnya. Tapi ini adalah anugrah Tuhan. Ternyata peristiwa dimasa lalu dapat menyelamatkan masa depan. Ini ajaib sekali. Aku teringat sepotong kata ibu pada suatu ketika, "bila kita senantiasa berbuat baik kepada orang lain, suatu saat Tuhan akan membalas kebaikan kita itu, cepat atau lambat,". Aku termenung, bagai tak percaya.
