Short Story: DREAMING

She found love again, in an imperfectly perfect person. He came so swift and swept her off the ground into the paradise of affection. All she wanted was a perfect guy, different from other guys but he came in a roughly packed gift box. She wanted a tall, dark and handsome guy but this huge and chubby guy strolled into her heart as her knight in shining armour.

His shy nature charmed her, making her want to open him up. His smile got her in the spontaneous action of smiling back like a fool; his cool and calm nature makes her warm, like hot and cold water mixed together, just ok. Not hot and hot together, they would be sizzling and scorching, not cold and cold together, they would be too chilling.

His husky voice, when he speaks quietly into her ears, it causes a reaction all over her skins, goosebumps popping out. His kind and gentle eyes, which enchants her, gradually hypnotizing her into the endless pool of love. Her wiry and thin hand feels awkward yet complete within his broad hand. She likes to drag his big nose, "Your nose sucks all the love between us" she says and chuckles while pulling his nose.

His broad chest, so plumpy and hard at the same time. Mostly used as a pillow on those quiet nights, when they just want to dwell in comfortable silence. Nights when words get stuck up in their throats, not that they aren't words to say but they just want to communicate through the quietness, enjoy the serene atmosphere.

Of course, he has some flaws, few flaws. People say it is bad not to have many flaws, she says he is too perfect, only a few flaws. People say he must be hiding something but she says, that's just all of him. To other girls, he is not their perfect guy, other girls might say he is too fat, too chubby, too calm, he ain't got swags. They see many flaws, she sees beautiful flaws.

She knocks on his door, his room scattered, as usual, clothes at different angles, plates, and cups at the back of the door. This time, the room wasn't dirty, it was just disorganised. He was lying down on the rug, his big butt showing an impressive view.

"How can my guy's butt be bigger than mine?" she said to him and shook her head.

"Because God made it this way to complement your small butt" he winked.

"Christ! Who says mine is smaller? Yours is just bigger" she retorted.

"Ok, if that makes you sleep at night," he said.

"Wow! Touché, nice one" she said and punched his chest. He punched her back, the both of them rolled on the rug.

"Wake up girl," her roommate said touching her back repeatedly.

"Omg! Nooo please don't tell me it was all a dream." She said frantically, her hands in her already strewn natural hair.

"What are talking about?" her roommate asked.
"Or are you sleep talking again? Please wake up"

"Oh no! You won't understand. It was so real" Her voice almost breaking.

She searched desperately for her phone on the bed, her friend just watched unsure of what to do. She saw the phone lying close to her laptop, which was on the dresser table. Her finger clicked on the WhatsApp icon, scrolled through all the chats to find his name, to confirm if it was all a dream, her hands trembling, making the phone shake uncontrollably.

"What is it? What is the problem babe?" her roommate, already scared asked again.
She sighs with relief as she sights his name.

"Thank God" she whispered to herself.

She turned to her friend and said, "I thought I and Obim's relationship was just a dream"

Both of them burst out in laughter, her roommate holding her stomach as she laughed hysterically. Tears flow down her own cheeks as she laughed out with glee.

"You are one crazy person," her friend said.
