Linklater is one of the most important independent filmmakers in history.
He is also one of the best listens in regard to film rambles and film conversation. He loves it. You see it in his work. You see it in this interview from 2017.

What's your favorite Linklater movie(s)? I can't say I like them all but he's has been an interesting figure / force in indie cinema for quite a while now
Agree, I don't love all his work but that is almost part of what I like about him. He is so often testing new ideas and styles, it seems, trying things. Good for everyone in the long run. His early stuff is most interesting to me. Dazed and Waking Life and Slacker are all fun worlds to dive into. Great interview. Cheers.
True that, he is the type of filmmaker/ creative that is the opposite of a one-trick-pony. I need to congratulate him for that. And with experimenting comes a certain risk. It's for the brave.

Haven't seen Boyhood. Love the concept overall, but it has not yet landed high on my watch list.

Same here, love the concept. Not high on my watchlist either. One of the reasons is its length of almost three hours, another its availability ( where I'm at ).
