The Many Views of Detective Dick Japowski
Gargoyles (1972)
You know how it goes. You and your daughter disturb an unusual demon shaped skeleton in mexico and then you're pursued by a gaggle of gargoyles who kidnap your daughter and force you to go looking for her in an underground tavern?! It's that tried and true storyline with extra added sweet monster effects that make this a fun and easy watch.

The Miseducation of Cameron Post (2018)
After she's found getting hot 'n' heavy with a girl from her bible studies group highschooler Cameron is sent to a gay conversion camp.
Because the film's set in the pre-information age of the early 90's Miseducation's allowed to be a far calmer affair then you'd expect. Instead of some extreme preacher the camp's run by a few well meaning Christians using prayer and psychology to 'cure' their patients. But it's also this subtle approach to the 'problem' that has some of the teen participants believing there's something fixable, and leads to Cameron questioning herself.
It also helps that Cameron isn't an in your face character rebelling against the system, allowing you to understand the mindsets of everyone involved.

The Lazarus Effect (2015)
A group of scientists develop a serum to bring people back from the dead, and inevitably they're forced to use it on one of their own.
Essentially it's Luc Besson's Lucy if he'd made a horror movie instead of an action movie, and while Lucy's runtime is only six minutes longer it does a lot more with the concept.

The Creeps (1997)
An evil scientist is disturbed in the middle of his experiment to bring Dracula, The Mummy, The Wolfman and Frankenstein's monster into the real world. Instead... And here is where it gets interesting.. They are now 3ft versions because of the meddling and all!
Its a great twist that only Charles Band and Full Moon Pictures could pull off.
Its goofy, diabolically acted, pint sized fun!

Unicorn Store (2017)
It's a big year for Brie Larson. She plays the lead in her own comic book franchise, she's set to appear in the biggest blockbuster the world has ever seen, and her directorial debut finally gets released...and she thought winning an Oscar the big time.
Unicorn Store sees a whimisical painter down on her luck get the chance to obtain the one thing she's always dreamt of.
While it's unlikely to win her anymore awards, it is a fun place to spend 90+ minutes.
