It's been a long time since I've posted anything...

The main reason for my inactivity is the fact that I want to concentrate completely on my new job. It is very demanding and "distraction" is unfortunately inappropriate here.

Another reason is that while I would like to report a lot about the sport I do, I would like to do it through @actifit. During my service in the army I am not allowed to carry my mobile phone with me and Actifit still does not support watches from Garmin. I had an average of 20.000 steps per day during the last weeks and it's frustrating that I can't use it. I also did 13k today instead of 5...

When jogging, I don't feel like carrying my mobile phone with me and would rather concentrate on running. In general, I use my mobile phone only rarely, which is a special thing in today's world. A little distance to all the electronic devices is really relaxing ;-)

I've changed a lot in the last 3 months and I'll give you a short summary:


New job

Since the first of January I joined the army and now I have 3.5 months of apprenticeship behind me. In the meantime I have already passed some sections of training, received my promotion to private E2 and today I also earned my bordeaux red barett and the strands. So one step closer to the paratrooper Staff Sergeant ;-)

The army still gives me great pleasure and I have my fun with it. I also have a lot of comrades with whom I am now very good friends. Comradeship is something very nice, because one knows that one can rely on these people in the case of the cases. So I will continue on this path, learn more and one day I will become an experienced soldier.


New training goals

Here comes the interesting part ;-)

Due to my job I do a lot of sports and I have set myself a high goal for this year: the Half-Ironman!

70.3 miles (113km) of concentrated joy, fun and pain await me. I am now quite well prepared as a runner, but I still have a lot of work to do on my swimming and cycling technique. My goal would be to finish the event in less than 6 hours; let's see how it will go on August 15th in Wilhelmshafen at the Northsman ;-)

I have neglected strength training a bit lately, but I will make up for it. If I write a bit more regularly again, you will see a lot about sports ;-)
Especially my training planning is very comprehensive and certainly worth some posts, but more about it soon!

Next year there will be an Ironman over the full distance. This will be the ultimate fun and proof of my discipline, performance and determination!!!


Today's Training

3x 500m eazy crawling intervals with 10:30min/500m for relaxing


What did I learn today:

  • nothing... just nothing ... too tired

At the moment there are a lot of endurance training sessions to build up enough endurance for the Half-Ironman.
