Flowerfriday: Coral Aloe

Coral Aloe, or Aloe Striata grows in my neighbour's garden and this is the first time that his has flowered, we were all pretty excited to see how it would turn out. I think it was worth the wait.

Coral Aloe is native to the Karoo in South Africa and it is unusual among the aloes because it doesn't have any thorns at all, just a pink edge on the leaves. It's easy to grow and very popular in gardens over here.

Very pretty flower! I like that the leaves of the plant has a pink edge instead of the thorns.

Me too, makes it easier to handle

Very beautiful photo and Coral Aloe!

Very original scarlet. I have never seen such. As the blossoms scarlet also did not see. It's only in this photo I looked at his beautiful flowers.

Do they not flower much when growing in your country?

Looks almost like agave... if it wasn't for the flower. Very pretty!

Much nicer plants than Agave, I am not such a fan of those

Beautiful and interesting plant.

A real beauty. Looks like potential for baby Coral Aloe. :-)

Eventually, yes

Very cool, we have some of those at my parents in Central Florida (same type of climate)

Is central Florida less humid? It's hot enough but people there seem to struggle with the humidity when growing succulents
