My entry for the 🌸 FLOWER POWER PHOTO CONTEST BY FLAMINGIRL 🌸
This is my 6th submission to #flowerpower photo contest by @flamingirl. Go go #FlowerPower! 1 more day to go. To date I have got daisy bouquets, then some gorgeous charming water lilies, then yellow orchids, colorful lantana and yesterday was purple orchids. It is quite interesting to actually fill your 7 days with flowers. I feel that blogging this week with this activity decorates my steemit walls. Lovely activities this week and thank you @Flamingirl for steeming this topic :D
Day 6 (Saturday, April 13th): Purple Dahlia White Tips
I saw this in one street and it just captured my eyes because they were unique and attractive. The name is so beautiful, I love Dahlia...
About Dahlia Source
Dahlia is as beautiful as its name. There are 42 species of dahlia, with hybrids commonly grown as garden plants.
The majority of dahlia do not produce scented flowers or cultivars. Like most plants that do not attract pollinating insects through scent, they are brightly colored, displaying most hues, with the exception of blue.
Dahlia mentioned in History
The dahlia was declared the national flower of Mexico in 1963.
In 1824, Lord Holland sent his wife a note containing the following verse:
"The dahlia you brought to our isle
Your praises for ever shall speak;
Mid gardens as sweet as your smile,
And in colour as bright as your cheek."
