Here is my 1st submission for #FlowerPower by @Flamingirl. I saw these flowers while doing my shopping at the MidValley Mega Mall. Camera: Samsung Note 5. Go go #FlowerPower! 6 more days to go.

Day 1 (Monday, April 8th): Gerbera Daisy Flowers

Gerbera is a genus of plants in the daisy family. It was named in honour of German botanist and medical doctor Traugott Gerber who travelled extensively in Russia. Gerbera is native to tropical regions of South America, Africa and Asia.

Gerbera species bear a large capitulum with striking, two-lipped ray florets in yellow, orange, white, pink or red colours. The capitulum, which has the appearance of a single flower, is actually composed of hundreds of individual flowers. Gerbera is very popular as a decorative garden plant or as flower bouquets and gifts. Colours include white, yellow, orange, red, and pink. Gerbera iis the fifth most used cut flower in the world (after rose, carnation, chrysanthemum, and tulip). Gerbera attracts bees, butterflies and birds. Source
