My entry for the 🌸 FLOWER POWER PHOTO CONTEST BY FLAMINGIRL 🌸 - Wednesday entry
Here goes my second entry to this great contest! I prefer to see flowers in the nature; but loved seeing them in this place as well. This photo was taken in the Temple of the tooth, a buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, in Sri Lanka. This is the temple were the relic of the tooth of Buda is kept, and the temple is visited by the thousands each year.
Normally those visitors carry symbolic offerings, and among those offerings, flowers are popular choices, especially lotus flowers! They ended up being arranged in front of the statues and places of prayer, creating this beautiful setting.

That must have been an amazing sight to see! Did you see the tooth?
If I recall correctly, the relic itself is only showed every few years! You can see where it is placed, but you can't see the actual relic since it is covered. Honestly, I loved the temple for the whole mood, the people and the atmosphere... the relic seems more like a way to make easy money, you are rushed to a tiny passage and able to look for a split second to where the relic is (hidden), it's almost comic! :)
That whole body parts thing is a bit bizarre to me! I had no idea that was a thing until I visited NotreDame in Paris and went on the tour without knowing what I was paying to see!
Também prefiro as flores no seu meio natural! Mas sem dúvida que fica muito bonito e a atmosfera aí devia ser bem perfumada. 😊
