The red rose is a flower that is considered to represent love, romance, beauty, and respect.
Since ancient times, many people have expressed their feelings by giving them red roses. This flower is also popular on Valetine Day and Mother's Day.
You know, in ancient Greece and Rome, the red roses were expensive and luxurious. They used to be available only to the rich and noble. Red roses are also an inspiration for painters and writers.
While in religious rituals, red roses are used in ceremonies as well as meditation rituals.
Interesting things happened in the 15th century, there is a historical record of what is called "War of the Roses" aka the Rose War.
The Rose War is not as beautiful as its name. It was a civil war in England. The red rose symbolizes the Lancaster family being a white rose is the emblem of the York family. When Henry VII of the Lancaster family married Elizabeth from York, she combined the roses of these two symbols into Tudor roses.
There is also ancient Greek mythology, which tells the story of Venus, the son of Cupid (the god of desire, erotic love, charm and compassion) who was stung by a bee for accidentally shooting an arrow toward the rose garden.
The arrow shot is believed to cause thorns growing on roses. When Venus walked into the rose garden, his leg was punctured by a rose thorn, so the drops of blood made the red roses.
