My Kiawe Driftwood Living Sculpture

This is a living sculpture. The dead Kiawe tree branches are taken from the ocean and drilled and assembled into tree-like structures and the air plants are glued to the branches or tiny open wood boxes are screwed or wired to branches and the plants are placed in the boxes.

The end result is the “dead” Kiawe tree is now alive with colorful plants.

The plants seem to love their new home. They are blooming and the leaves and stems take on very vibrant colors.

This one has red stems and three purple flowers.
