Fresno Nightcrawlers: North American Folklore
The Fresno nightcrawlers are a fairly new part of American folklore, with sightings first recorded in the 1990s.
The creature is strange and simple in appearance, slender and entirely white. The body of a nightcrawler appears to be 90% legs. Reports vary on their size, some state the entity as 3 feet tall, while other sightings gauge the beings at 7 feet tall.
While their addition to mainstream folklore may be fairly recent, the mythology of the nightcrawlers may be ancient. Native American totems from yesteryear depict a creature very similar to the one of the Fresno nightcrawler legend.
Although they are named the Fresno Nightcrawlers, they have been spotted in places other than the california city. Security cameras in Yosemite National Park picked up footage of slender, strange beings that resembled the Fresno nightcrawlers.
Some see the mysterious creature as nothing but a hoax, perhaps a child in a large pair of white pants or an intricately crafted puppet. Others are sure that the nightcrawlers exist, and are likely an alien lifeform or interdimensional species.
As ridiculous as the soundtrack may be, the video below was the only clip I could find of the infamous nightcrawler video, that wasn’t part of a longer video. This video surfaced in the pre-youtube days of the 90s, by an anonymous homeowner who set up surveillance cameras in order to get evidence of his neighbor’s dog defecating in his yard. What he got instead is much more mysterious.
I find most of these fearsome critters to be funny or clever but this one is actually terrifying to me hahaha. If I was camping and someone started telling me a story about these nightcrawlers I'd probably put my fingers in my ears and say la la la la la la la until they stopped talking lol.
