Few Saturdays ago, I had to bring my car for due inspection. After paying for the inspection, I handed over my car and the guy would drive by different stations and check for different things.

我就一直走到尾端要领取车的地方。 然后回到家附近的市中心与我的太太见面，她要去银行做点什么。
Outside the bank, I saw this. Yay, they were giving away kueh tutu and I have not had that for a while.
在银行外面，我看到了这。好极了，他们送嘟嘟糕。有阵子没吃这了。
I joined the queue and waited for a few people in front of me. Then the queue behind me got longer.
我也去排队了等了前面几个人就到我。然后后面来排队的人更多了。
I got mine and went into the bank. Of course, one got confiscated by my wife.
我拿了我那份就进了银行。 当然，有一个被我的太太充公了。
After leaving the bank, it was time for lunch. I drove to the food centre at Beach Road because my wife said she had not had this fried hokkien prawn noodle for a while. So, I’m queuing here. In between, when it was almost my turn, some stupid man who didn’t queue went to the front threw $5 at the old man inside the stall and told him will come back in half in hour for his packet of noodle. The old man took the $5 and use the same hands to pull the noodle out to put into the wok. In between, he picked up 2 plastic packets of bee hoon which is in plastic bag from a carton and the 2 plastic packets went into a pail filled with water. After a while, he push the bee hoon out of the plastic bag into the water. I can only go… Hmm…..
离开银行后，是时候吃午餐了。 我开车去了美芝路的熟食中心因为太太说她有一段时间没吃那里的炒福建虾面。所以，我到了那里就排队。到了还有两个人在我前面时候，有一胖子没有排队走到前面，向摊位里的老人扔了$5，并告诉他将在半小时后回来拿他一包炒面。 老人家拿了那$5，然后用同只手将面条拉出来放入锅。过些时候，他从一个纸皮箱拿起2个塑料袋的米粉放入装满水的桶中。 过了一会儿，他将米粉从塑料袋中推出水中。我只能默默的。。。嗯。。。
I brought 2 plates of $4 noodle over to where my wife was waiting. This prawn noodle is the drier version with less gravy. Taste was still great but you read what I saw in front. If you want to eat, don’t think too much.
我带了2盘$4钱的面端到我太太坐着的地方。这里的虾面是比较干的版本，汁较少。 味道仍然很好，但你看了我在前面看到的。要吃就别想那么多。
From where I was sitting, I saw this stall selling western food which seems to be quite popular too.
从我坐的地方，我看到这个卖西餐的摊位似乎也很受欢迎。
After eating, I told my wife I’d bring her to a place for coffee. This one. Across the road North Bridge Road. It is old style enough.
吃完后，我告诉太太我带她到一个地方喝咖啡。就是这里。在桥北路对面。 够古早味。
Inside, you can see it’s old style enough too.
在里面，你也可以看到它有点古老的味道。
I ordered a butter kaya toast which was nice.
我叫了分牛油加椰土司挺不错。
However, the more interesting thing here is butter coffee. Watch as I stirred mine.
可是更特别的是这牛油咖啡。看着我搅拌咖啡。
在我坐的地方后面有一些小吃，包括旧式饼干。另外，看看那旧式用钱币的电话。满是灰尘。不知道它是否还能用。

To make that was actually quite simple but to prepare the ingredients also takes some work.at first i thought it looked like dimsum? with the same texture? but it looks different now on this video
It's not from the dim sum family but still a snacking kind of food.
The ingredients once prepared is quite easily formed into this simple "cake"
I said the very same thing today. If you eat out, dont think of all the nasty stuff that may have happened to the food!
Yes, it taste better if you don't know too much.
