Ingredients.

Cake:

  1. One kilo of leavening wheat flour.

  2. One kilo of sugar.

  3. 500 grams of margarine.

  4. Two cups of liquid milkTwo cups of liquid milk.

Meringue:

  1. Four eggs (only the egg whites).

  2. A cup of sugar.

  3. Half cup water.

Optional:

  1. Cinnamon powder.

  2. Cereal.

Previous steps:

  1. Preheat the oven to 175º C / 350º F.

  2. Select a mold suitable for a kilo of sponge cake, grease the mold with a thin layer of margarine and sprinkle wheat flour, this step is important to demold easily.

Using a wooden spoon or a hand mixer, mix the margarine with the sugar until it forms a cream.

Add only the yolks of eight eggs and continue beating.

Add flour little by little while mixing.

To give the desired consistency to the mixture, milk and flour must be added to the mixture.

Beat the whites of eight eggs to the point of snow and add enveloping to the main mixture.

Pour into the mold and bake for an hour, after this time it is advisable to check the cooking by clicking with a wooden stick, if it comes out our cake is ready. Let stand at room temperature to then unmold our cake, meanwhile we can prepare the meringue of the decoration.

In a small pot dissolve a cup of water and a half of sugar, bring to the fire to form a caramel.

Beat four egg whites until stiff, add the hot caramel and continue beating for two minutes.

The meringue is ready as soon as it has a smooth and firm texture.

Cover the cake with the meringue and sprinkle cinnamon to flavor.

To give color to the decoration of the cake we can place a touch of cereal in the cover.
