Dim Sum - A Special delicious food for breakfast and lunch

For those who like to explore the delicious and mysterious of a typical Chinese cuisine especially in Asia countries like China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia. It is well known as "Dim Sum" essential mean small portion size of food. It is made with many different types and style preparation in small basket or plate. Most of the styles are steam cooked with some percentage deep fried.

The picture above is a typical chicken wrap in lotus leaf. The chicken is cut into small pieces, seasoned with the right amount of course and other spice. And then it is wrapped with lotus leaf and steam to cook. Thre lotus leaf after being heated will emit a very special natural fragrant that make the chicken taste every better.

These small portions of food have their unique name. They are prepared in a small plate and steam to cook. Most of them are prepared in fish paste or mix with minced pork and are wrap with "fuchok" or skin which is tough enough to hold the meat in shape. Those are "siao-mi", "ha-kau", "Fu-guin", "yu-ping" etc. While all of them are steam to cook except one of them which is called the "fish-cake". It is lightly fried until brownish and served. Besides these "dumplings", there are also buns which have different meat inside like minced pork or chicken, vegetables, beans etc

As the demand of different style of Dim-sum increases, the variety also increased to include steam chicken, tau-fu, fish-ball, and meat wrap with sea-weed.

You may be wondering whether this small portion of food is able to fill your hunger. You may be right, but due to its small portion, you tend to eat a number of plates which eventually fill your stomach as most of them are meat based food.

In order to complement the food taste bud, you are normally served with Chinese tea and drink while you eat these Dim-sum

If you have not taken these Chinese cuisines, do try it in a Chinese restaurant near you and ask for Dim-Sum

thanks for stopping by. it is one of the delicious Chines food in my country as well as in Asia countries. I am not sure it is so in the Philippines though.
I do take dim sum but not in big quantity as most of them are meat based in preparation. They are very filling after you have taken them.
Anyway, it is still one of my favorite food.
