During the return of the Jiangxi Qigong Medicine Symposium by train, it arrived at 6.20 AM local time. It was a 30 minutes journey before we arrived at the Shanghai popular tourist spot to have the popular xiao long bao dumpling for breakfast. The tour leader who visited this place a year ago tried to locate the restaurant that sold xiao long bao but could not find it. It was suspected the said restaurant was within the fenced up area which is under construction. We finally located a restaurant and stay there but it only open for business at 8.30 am. So, we sit around and waited for about 45 minutes before the ordering counter open for taking orders.

Before we could take order for the xiao long bao, we order a pot of Chinese Tea called the "lung Chen" which has a mild fragrant and taste very pleasant. It is one of the quality tea among the Chinese Tea

I have not taken the xiao long bao before but I could see from the display how it looks. From far, it looks like a small size of char-xiao-bao , a type of steam bun normally available in Malaysia.

Finally, the order counter open and my friend and I order 3 baskets for both of us. One basket consists of 6 of the small size dumpling. But the pau texture is different from what I have in mind. It is made from the dumplings skin wrap with minced pork inside. The difference is the minced pork is juicy and wet.

My initial thought was the xiao long bao is like the bun in Malaysia. But it is like the "har Kau" available in Malaysia except it is bigger in size.

For me, the taste is not special and I rated it as "so, so" only.

After we had enough food, we decided to leave the restaurant. While we walked out of the restaurant, we spotted many stalls selling similar xiao long bao but at a price up to 30-40 % lesser. There are also many other types of food too which is not on the menu of the restaurant.
