High-fructose Corn Syrup Might Help Double Growth Rate Of Cancer Tumors

in #food5 years ago

Researchers investigating the connection between high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and cancer think that consuming too much might help to fuel the disease.

In the journal Science, researchers recently detailed a study that involved mice who had been fed a regular dose of soda containing HFCS, which consequently helped the mice to develop larger and more substantial tumors.

However, because those mice had been bred to grow tumors, the mice were prone to intestinal cancer, researchers note that it's difficult to tell what might be attributable to the soda ingredients alone.

They did note however, that they had observed the tumor to use both fructose and glucose to help double its growth rate. HFCS is a mix of both, and is also known as glucose-fructose syrup.

Scientists have made this connection before.

As well, artificial sweeteners that are commonly found in sodas are also suggested to negative impact gut bacteria. Despite many warnings though, you can still find many scientists and health experts out there who insist that there isn't anything to worry about when it comes to consuming HFCS. They maintain that the fears are being overblown and that HFCS is an ingredient that doesn't need to be avoided for health concerns.

You might be surprised how many items at your local grocery store contain HFCS and just how difficult it might be trying to avoid consuming that in the diet.

Various health groups have listed HFCS as a top item to try and avoid when shopping and the increased awareness for the ingredient has prompted a growing number of people to stick with trying to avoid purchasing items that contain HFCS. Because of this, there has been a decrease in domestic consumption in recent years for the product and that decline has now fueled an effort to push for exporting it overseas. Several big companies have already started to discontinue the use of the ingredient, such as Heinz, PepsiCo, Yoplait, and others.

Might??!!
only Double??!!

Cancers need sugar to grow, and HFC is like, almost specifically designed for tumor growth.

Curing cancers through diet all have one thing in common. Remove sugars from the diet. Especially HFC. You may even need to remove simple carbs too.

Anyway, dietary findings show that people should consume less than 7 teaspoons of sugar a day. That is less than one 12 ounce soda.

yes, might.... do you just stop at the title? 😄 there is no consensus within the scientific community about the dangers of HFCS, you'll still find some claiming it's healthy, just like you will with gmos 👍

No, i didn't stop at the title... but i do have a rather large chip on my shoulder when it comes to the NeoCancerIndustry.

I have also seen WAY too much results when working with cancer, that shows that sugars are a huge factor.

I feel like i am in the time when big auto manufacturers were saying, lead doesn't hurt people. Lead just passes through the human body with no effects.

Because i am on the cutting edge of working with human bodies, this news is not only old news, to me it is soooo one sided, that the Surgeons General should put Cancer Warnings on bags of sugar.

correct. cancer can only use sugar as it’s aource of energy, so diets that are very low in net carbs are showing cancer regression and suicide.

It's really sad what is happening. There are many factors that affect cancer cells and I think it's safe to say we don't know all yet.
I'm wondering how much time people need to realise these soft drinks are slowly killing them and stop consuming. Companies won't stop selling them, that's for sure.
