Ho Jiak Strathfield Review
Ho Jiak was founded in 2014 by Malaysian born Junda Khoo and William Xie. They specialize and love serving their authentic Northern Penang Malaysian food.
I have tried hawker style food in Malaysia and some of their dishes here is quite similar to the ones I had eaten.
Their menu is very simple but it's very tasty, similar to hawker food in Malaysia. That's what I prefer, simple and tasty food is just the best. Put an ugly yummy food on my plate any day.
Ordered the Indomee Goreng which had king prawns. Man this was so delicious. The spice was just spot on. It was not spicy burn your tongue hot but you feel it. I felt it too the next day in the toilet. That will set you about $21. It didn't cost this much when I was in Malaysia. Dang!
Next dish we ordered was Curry Chicken with Roti, similar to a Beef Rendang but Chicken. This was also spicy and was perfect. Big complaint with this one was that I would have wanted the Chicken to be falling off the bone. Price for this one is $19.80.
Overall it was a good experience, but the price is on the expensive side. You can find them in Strathfield and another in Haymarket.
