Golden Yellow Breadfruit Bhajias # Food

in #food6 years ago (edited)

Is there anyone who dislikes to eat bit spicy stuff on a rainy day? Here in Mangalore it is the rainy season now and we love eating fried foods for our evening snacks!!

So here is a recipe for Breadfruit Bhajia or Pakodas or Phodi (People call it by different names)....

You all might have seen or at least heard about this fruit, which belongs to the Jackfruit family.... This is called Breadfruit!!

We use this fruit for making curries, dries, and Bhajias or Bhujia or Pakodas or Phodies. Everything tastes great.

Actually today's Bhajias are made by my husband, on last Sunday!. He loves cooking and making something special on Sundays... And it's my pleasure to enjoy his cooking along with Son @firepower!!.

I took these pics on Sunday, and I am posting this blog after three days!! :)

Are you curious how to make it? Then here is the recipe...

Clean and cut the fruit into thin slices, about 1/4" thick.

image

Make a paste using Gram flour (Chickpeas powder), Salt, Chilly powder, and a pinch of Asafoetida powder. Let this paste be thick like dosa batter. Dip and deep fry in pure Coconut oil.

Here frying in coconut oil is a must to get the typical South Indian taste!

So... Make this and get surprised to see... How the plate becomes empty in just 2 minutes!!.... :)

Friends... Please share your favorite recipes on this platform, so that I too can enjoy making and eating it....

Take care Guys... With lots of love, @geetharao...

seems yummy, @geetharao . Never tasted it before. Is bread fruit the same as Jackfruit ?

No @nehab... Breadfruit belongs to that family, biologically. But without bulbs and is only treated as a vegetable.

Bhajiyas are always welcome in rainy season. This is something new for me as at our place onion pakodas are the most popular and in the winter season green chickpeas and in rainy season we used to make corn pakodas.

You are also an expert cook if i am not wrong. This recepie is also very new for me too,but these pakouda are from @geetharao kitchen so it should oviously be delicious.

Yes you are right, I also love to cook.

Hi Sir @chetanpadliya... I dint had the idea of making pakodas with corn so far! Thank you so much... :)
I think baby corn? Or full grown corn, taking out the seeds and using them??

Corn pakoras made by taking fresh corn of the season, de seed and make coarse paste. Use this paste to make pakoras with gram flour and spices. It makes very delicious pakoras
