Ivy-gourd and Chickpeas Dry (Sukha)!

Hi Guys... I am here with a cool side dish today made with Ivy-gourd and Chickpeas.

Ivy-gourd is a veggie much used in South India which is rich in Iron and Vitamin B12.
Chickpeas is rich in protein.

This is a dry dish or a side dish which can be had along with rice, roties, chapathies or even bread.

So to make this we need...
Ivy-gourd - 250 grams.
Chickpeas - 100 grams.

And the following for the Masala...
Chilly powder - 1/2 teaspoon.
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon.
Cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Garam Masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon.
Grated Coconut - 1 cup.
Salt for taste.
Curry leaves and mustard seeds for seasoning.
Coconut oil - 2 Table spoon.

Method
Soak Chickpeas overnight and using a cooker, cook till it becomes soft.
Clean and cut Ivy-gourd into round slices.

Take a deep pan, make a seasoning using coconut oil, mustard seeds and curry leaves. Add the precut Ivy-gourd and little water and boil for 5 minutes. Add the cooked Chickpeas, grated Coconut and all the above mentioned powders along with salt for taste and keep stirring for 5 more minutes until it gets mixed with the Masala, should not be watery, and is done.

Garnish with coriander leaves.

Lovely dish ma'am!! I've not eaten Ivy-gourd on many occasions, but I love chickpeas. This looks like an interesting and tasty combination :)
