Afternoon Tea the Right Way - Part 2

My post about the first course of my afternoon tea for two with my daughter went down well last week.

You may remember that it was at 'Cakes the Difference' in Patcham, Brighton, and I promised you another post where I would show you the cakes.

Something I didn't mention about 'Cakes the Difference', apart from them serving their afternoon teas much as they were served in the old days, is that they also make all of their produce on the premises so it is always fresh.

They also pride themselves on only using butter and free range eggs and ingredients such as the finest Belgian chocolate. All are locally sourced, whenever possible.

So . . . onto the cake course . . .

Deciding which photographs to post was really, really difficult. I have too many to post them all but you'll get the general idea I think! 😁

Served on a silver 3-tiered cake stand

One plate for me. One plate for Rebecca. And the top plate of cream scones to share.

Despite the cakes being nice and petite there was no way we could eat them all, especially after having eaten most of the sandwiches.

This meant we had a nice selection to take home with us to enjoy over the next few days. 😁

Wow! lovely cakes. Wholefoods has started carrying some very nice macarons so we have indulged a bit lately. But that wouldn't be my first choice here - I always go for things like the raspberry swirl and raspberry/white chocolate sponge. Wonderful photos. Thanks for sharing with us

My favourites were actually the macarons, I love home made lemon curd, and the mini pavolova.

The raspberry swirl and raspberry/white chocolate sponge were fairly low down the list @steven-patrick but my daughter like those two best. 😊

OMG! Sounds like an episode of the Great British Baking Show! Those look simply scrumptious...works of art really!

Yes and very delicious works of art they were too @melinda010100. 😊

Ha, ha, ha @blacklux. I'm sure they'd be very happy to oblige! 😁

Never too late either @elundqvist.photo which is probably more appropriate in this case, as the present was from the Christmas before. I shall be expecting something else this year! 😂

Thank you for visiting!

I can't make a choice, heh . I take them all:) Yummy!

Well the good thing of choice was we were able to just that, @madlenfox . . . we took them all! 😂
