Low Carbohydrate Lunch on the Go

It has been very interesting finding food that is satisfying while I travel versus what I can prepare for myself when cooking at home. When I say traveling, I don't necessarily mean on an airplane. It could just be going to my digital photography or knitting class, shopping, running errands and realizing that I haven't eaten. What is available that is healthy, with few carbohydrates that I can eat and drink on the go?

At the airport this week, I was able to easily get a healthy meal during lunch time at the club. It is more difficult during the breakfast time period because the choices are oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, bread, danishes and bagels. All of those things would elevate my blood sugar levels early in the day. I will eventually get back to the place where I can eat anything in moderation which is what I have always done.

When I cook at home, I just leave out the rice, potatoes and other carbohydrates for now. The food is good nutritious and healthy. I am still getting plenty to eat, but my body feels differently without all of the extra sugar. I guess my body chemistry is changing as it gets back to a healthy medium. I need to eat more frequently and eat smaller portions.

Oh. I guess we are different. When i cook at home. Rice, potatoes are one of carbohydrate food i love eating. Always necessary for your body to return to healthy medium. Have a great day ahead friend

I love them too but at this point in my life, I can't eat a whole lot of rice and potatoes. I can still eat them in smaller quantities.

It looks like you’re headed in the right direction. Early in life, many people are trained to eat potatoes and rice with every meal. As we grow older, we learn about the effects of carbohydrates in the body.
