Delicious chicken dish: Chicken meatballs in tomato sauce

  • 3 pieces of gray bread without crusts;
  • 50 ml of milk;
  • 50 g of olives;
  • 2 tablespoons of capers;
  • 4 cloves of garlic;
  • 4 tablespoons of grated parmesan;
  • 300 g of boiled chicken;
  • 1 large egg;
  • salt, ground black pepper - to taste;
  • a few tablespoons of olive oil;
  • 800 g of tomato pulp;
  • ½ teaspoon of sugar;
  • a few twigs of parsley.

Preparation



Cut the bread, mix it with the milk and wait a bit.

Grind in the blender softened bread, olives, capers, one clove of garlic and parmesan. Add chopped chicken and raw egg and grind again. The texture should not be uniform, it is enough that balls can be rolled out of this mixture.

Season with mince salt and black pepper. Make from it small balls about 2.5 cm in diameter. If the stuffing turns watery, add to it bread crumbs.

Lubricate the baking dish with butter and put the meatballs in it. Sprinkle them with olive oil and put in a preheated oven to 180 ° C. After 15 minutes, turn the meatballs so that they evenly covered with a golden crust, and bake for another quarter of an hour.

While preparing meatballs, make a tomato sauce. Pour into the saucepan 2 tablespoons of olive oil, put on medium heat and fry 3 cloves of chopped garlic until it softens slightly.

Add the tomato pulp to the garlic. By the way, it can be replaced with tomato paste. To get all the pasta from the jar, just pour a little water into it, mix it and pour it into the saucepan.

Add the fire and cook the sauce for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens. If the sauce seemed to you sour, add sugar to it. Season it with salt and black pepper to taste. Add the sauce to the meatballs 5-10 minutes before the end of cooking.

Before serving, sprinkle the dish with chopped parsley.
