10 Minute Air Fried Potatoes

in #food5 years ago (edited)

An air fryers has a frying effect while reducing a lot of the oil and fat in the process.

Maybe adding Mozzarella cheese was not the healthiest idea, but the fries were so yummy they were gone in a second.

We keep a lot of vegetables and things like potatoes can be frozen and later made into a quick snack. I just took the frozen potato out of the freezer and cut it into smaller pieces and placed it in a small circle pan. In the past I used foil, but the fan from the air cooker pulled the foil up from the bottom. The fries work better on the surface of the air fryer or in a pan.

What's the secret ingredient?

Maybe you can see already that we used some pepper and a little salt and grated cheese, but the secret ingredient is Ramen powder. Here we used snack Ramen, but whatever Ramen you choose don't sprinkle too much, just a little to add a tinge of flavor. Ramen powder is not the healthiest thing in the world so we don't have to add too much, but kids love it and so do I so a little bit will spice up your fries.

We cooked our fries for 15 minutes.

I think that is a little too long. You can probably cook the fries five minutes at 160 Celsius and then turn the fries over. The heat from the air fryer comes from the top so sometimes the bottom doesn't get cooked so well.

My ten minute miracle.

It is not a gourmet meal, but it was done in ten minutes and the kids were starving for a snack. We created some interesting things from this air fryer and this was a sure hit. The don't look so pretty but they were eaten up in seconds.

Enjoy,

@mineopoly

Ramen powder! Wicked! So means to say you cook the potatoes first with the ramen powder before you air fry them?

Hi @davidke20,

I don't cook the potato ahead of time. I soak it in water to get the starch out. That is a must. Forgot to add that. And yes Ramen is the key to a spicy frenzy.

Quick snack. It seems that people like food posts. Maybe something we all relate with or maybe we are all hungry.

Howdy sir mineopoly! It think those are a thing of beauty! lol. I love fries and I don't know anything about the air fryer but I've heard about them. Much healthier and less hassle and mess fooling with oils.

Yes, it was worth the purchase. We use it to cook most meats and bake vegetables. I tried cookies in there too and they taste OK, but always have the problem with the bottom not cooking as well as the top.

Howdy sir mineopoly! That thing looks high tech, is that a new invention? I've only just heard about them recently.

It is like a convection oven and pressure cooker in one. I don't recommend needless spending to buy a gadget but we didn't have an oven and these works two in one.

howdy today sir mineopoly! oh I see, I really like the efficiency of the two in one concept!

Food doesn't have to look good in order to taste good and I love potatoes!! And I also have an air fryer and love it!! Did you precook the potatoes before freezing them? I love the air fryer and cook in it all the time. I will be trying some steak bites soon.

The fries really do look delicious... I also love fries with gravy and cheese. Yummy! I would have never thought to use the packet from ramen noodles on anything but ramen noodles lol... I will be trying your secret recipe the next time I cook fries.

Hope all is well friend. 🖤🖤🖤

Thank you @monchhichi23,

Slow and steady. I'm glad to have a few minutes to post something. Southern cooking was influenced so much by the French that butter and oil was a must, but we don't as much as we used to. Thanks for stopping by, I will catch up with your story soon. ^^

man this shit is like voodoo magic. i love it.
tho im not putting in fancy ingredients like 라면수프 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ (nothing but potatoes, salt and pepper) it's still nice.

That's beautiful. Think about the amount of oil you would need if you had deep fried those. You are one lucky man. And your fries came out better looking than mine. The ten minute miracle. Remember to soak them in water to get the starch out.

oh yes. i always leave it in cold water for awhile :)
awesome stuff
