CHILTEPIN AMARILLO PEPPER - PEPPER REVIEW AND TASTE TEST Featuring @IRONSHIELD
Another pepper review, but this time with another steemian too!
This one was a cool little pepper. I've experienced some similar ones down around the Texas/Mexico border, and even grew the same pequin pepper plant for over three years back in Wisconsin.
While visiting An American Homestead recently, I was blessed with the opportunity to sample some of these peppers, and @ironshield even stopped by to help out and offer a second opinion.
While they may be little, chiltepin or "bird peppers" certainly pack a punch. I had never seen this yellow variety before, so I was excited to check it out! Enjoy!

One of my first really fun community experiences was with you tasting peppers @papa-pwpper. Fun that @ironshield did this taste with you. I haven't seen the yellow lemon pequins, but i have a nice red one growing proudly on my deck. Thanks for sharing this one!

Seeds from the @papa-pepper garden would always be welcome! I interestingly enough haven't harvested seeds from my red pequin. I've had them growing in a pot on a single plant for more than a decade, maybe two! I just bring the plant inside in the winter and it just keeps on producing year after year. Maybe I'll harvest some seeds this year and send you some if I do!

I brought a few of these beautiful yellow CHILTEPIN AMARILLO peppers home with me... just in case I have a melted ice cream craving.
LOL - Be careful, you're lactose intolerant.... why can you be more tolerant?
We have the red variety here and they grow like wildfire. They don't need any special care and seem to flourish under any conditions.

Actually, @ironshield is between 800 and 900 miles away in Michigan, and @brianphobos just stopped by on his way from Arizona to Indiana. I guess people just like to meet up if they are in the area.

That sure does not look very hot, but after seeing how ironshield responded I would probably not try it.

They grow very similar to the the Tabasco pepper. Have you tried that one before? We grew some this year.
