2018 Cost of Living in San Blas, Mexico - Prices of Groceries and Household Goods

in #food6 years ago

"How much will my groceries cost?" "How much for toilet paper?" People have been asking these questions and telling us that they want more information on the cost of living here in Mexico. You asked and we listened!

In today's video, we head into Mi Bodega Aurrera (A Walmart-owned company) in San Blas, Nayarit, Mexico. We'll show you prices for a bunch of different items including milk, beef, common groceries, and household goods. All prices are converted into US Dollars at the current exchange rate.

Let us know if you liked this video or if you have any suggestions for how to improve it.

Should we make a video like this in every city we visit?

Prices are more or less similar to what Walmart has here in La Ceiba, Honduras, the only thing I saw much cheaper was the tuna fish.

Thanks for your comment. I don't know why, but it's fascinating to me how prices compare around the globe. Have you lived in Honduras your whole life?

More or less the cost there and here are the same. The price videos can truly give us an idea on how to live in different cities. Excited to see more. :)

Remind me where you're located again? They seem to be popular, so we'll continue making them in our travels, but I can't guarantee that they'll be without puns ;)

Thanks for watching and commenting!

Enjoyed your watching your videos. :) I'm from the Philippines. ^^

It's like Philippines, I can survived here with just 2000 bucks in a year with a decent living. :)

That's quite the difference from what we grew up experiencing in the US. $2,000 won't even get you a month's rent in some of the more expensive cities there. :O

Thanks for sharing your experiences. And as always, thanks for reading and for your support :)

Hi. I am Korean 19 science high school student. I want to know about mexico. your contents so exciting. This picture is my country Korea Seoul c2.png

Thanks for sharing, it's interesting to see prices from around the world!

I totally like this idea. It helps with proper planning. I think you should do this more, in places you go to. Well done. Compared to our exchange rates, with those items, i think they are fair prices. The ones with huge figures; $430 $113, are they in packs ot single items?.
Thank you for this...really...it's been fun following you guys. Well done.

It sure does! Creating a budget is never wasted effort. Helps to save money and plan for future expenses. Almost all of these prices are much lower than we would be paying in the US. The ones that are higher are either name brand items where they had a large import tax applied or they're just expensive in general. I believe baby formula was one. That's something that carries a huge price tag in the US too.

Thanks for checking out our video and continuing to follow along with our adventures @olawalium!

That's true. The high import tax is another contributing factor, or items with brand names too. That's really nice. Thanks a lot for always willing to shed more light.

The most expensive items were baby formula which have a lot of servings in them.

Thanks for your thoughts on this type of video. We think that we’ll continue doing more of them as we travel.

Thanks a lot. Yes, that would be amazing. I am in support of having you include that in your subsequent travel videos. Your videos are really helping me a lot. Now i know San Blas. Haha

Yes, you should make video like this every city you visit to tell us the cost of living.
Thanks for upvoting my post earlier about me reintroducing myself.
Have fun.

Thanks for the feedback @hanamana! We'll probably continue to do them in future cities. In a few days, we'll be getting to Guadalajara, so maybe we can do another one there.

Looks like you are visiting every major cities in Mexico at this rate....keep on enjoy traveling.

Thank you :) We're trying to visit as many cities as we can in order to see what we like the most.
