Steem Poker League - 'Away From The Table Segment' - Steak with Bacon Wrapped Brussels Sprouts

Poker Noms

If you have been member of the @spl from the get go, chances are you really enjoy playing poker. And since Lucksacks is an online poker platform, most of us are allowed to play in the comfort of our own homes. However, most of these tournaments start in and around dinner time, so sometimes whipping up an extravagant meal is not that easy. Maybe some of you grab a snack, and eat after the game. Or perhaps some of you grab a burger on the way home from work. While those are all perfectly acceptable options, sometimes you just want some good homemade food.

This is where poker noms steps in, I've scoured the internet and all of my cookbooks for some inspiration. I want to bring you an exciting variety of dishes that are not only homemade, but they are easy on the budget, and won't get in the way of your poker action.

On this glorious hump day, I decided to go with some red meat. Oooh yeah, steak. Juicy, sultry, savory...steak. And well, you gotta have some greens, so why not roasted brussels sprouts. But you know Bigp, he ain't just doin plain ole veggies. I wrapped them bitches with pork.

Third Dish Up

Steak with Bacon Wrapped Brussels Sprouts

Here is what you will need. One bowl has brown sugar, and the other a mixture of maple syrup and mustard. Preheat oven to 400 deg. F.

Cut the bacon in half, and wrap the sprouts. Place the wrapped sprouts seam side down. Top with brown sugar. Roast in oven for 15 mins.

Sprinkle a liberal amount of salt and pepper on both sides of the steak.

After 15 mins, remove the sprouts and turn them over carefully.

Top each wrapped sprout with the mustard sauce, and back in the oven for another 15-20 mins. Until the bacon is crisp, sauce is golden brown.

I had a small piece of bacon left over - well you can't let it go to waste, so instead cook that steak in the some pig fat. Oh yeah.

Take the sprouts out of the oven, and let them rest in the pan for a couple of mins.

Same with the steak. After cooking in pan till your liking, let it rest for 5-10 mins.

All the bacon in the world can't save a brussels sprout. Everything else looked delicious.

Lol oh no!! I love Brussels sprouts. Sooo good. Don't even need bacon. That veggie got hosed by cooks who didn't know how to utilize it, so they just boiled the shit out of em. Nasty. You gotta bring out their natural sugars. Yummmmm.

My brother roasts them and he loves them. He doesn't understand how I can eat so much cabbage and not like brussels sprouts. Of course he is a yankees fan so what the hell does he know.
