Not my typical food for supper but this sea grapes is so irresistible.
Locally known as Lato, sea grapes is a famous dish in Sabah especially to the Bajau people in Semporna.
Normally Lato is serve with chopped onions, tomatoes, red chilies and limes juice but in my case, a few of limes juice it’s good enough 😋. Best to eat it when it’s still fresh 🤤🤤. Satisfaction guaranteed 😬.

Okay.. I've never seen this nor heard of it in my few times back to Sabah. You've got to show me the real thing next month. Does it taste like normal grapes or like a seafood ?
Oh, you can find this at the night market here in KK. Or, at the wet market. It's crunchy but you can really taste the saltiness of the sea. Maybe you can ask Simon to bring you makan there at the night market.
I have seen a Filipino posted about it but I didn't know you have it in Sabah! Sounds delicious @viverridae! :)
Oh, we do have it here. I can't say much about the taste but I do kinda like it. But my father-in-law doesn't really like it. Probably because he can really taste the saltiness of the sea.
