Bunless burger in Hong Kong, China!

We're in Hong Kong, China, and we went to this nice restaurant called Beef & Liberty in the famous Lan Kwai Fong area in Central. It was a very bar-esque burger restaurant with friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere. What intrigued us the most was that we could order the burger but without the bun!

I ordered the bacon and cheese burger in a bowl, which comes without the bun but with a salad. I'm trying to eat healthier so it's great to have more greens and less carbohydrates. The cheese was thick and sumptuous, pretty much covering the whole beef patty. The patty itself was cooked very nicely to medium. The juices flowed when it was cut. The meat was pink but had no blood. It was perfect! The sweet potato fries that came with were also very nice. Yes, these are obviously carbs too, but at least I didn't have the bun... Finally that dark blob is caramelized onion, which went very well with both the salad and the burger.

The other burger we had was the regular type... which had a bun. The bun was so soft and soaked some of the beef juice. It was such a good burger that I almost regret ordering mine in the dish. It was a standard burger and was cooked just as nice. This really is a very decent burger place, and not too pricey either!

We were very hungry so we didn't take any more pictures and dug in. Everything was nice and the portions were just right. I will definitely go again... maybe next time have a regular burger!
