Ulog #32: Nasi Lemak Ayam
'Nasi Lemak' which can easily be classified as one of our national dish is a beloved favorite of Malaysians and not to mention around the world. The dish that has won 'Masterchef' finals and even controversial 'Rendang Chicken' skin that wasn't crispy, this is a definitely a very much talked about dish to say the least.
Here's a place that opened this year around the area I'm staying at but it's their 2nd outlet and they've been in the food and catering business for more than 30 years. This place is called 'Saleha Nasi Lemak'. When even the name of the dish is in the name of the place you know it has to be good.

Many people's favorite accompanying side would be a fried chicken and here's a picture of mine with a fried chicken wing. Juicy and tender on the inside and fragrant and crispy on the outside.
The sambal was well balanced with sweet, spicy, sour and savory notes to it. The rice is something special. It's very fragrant with coconut milk and pandan flavors but it doesn't overpower the fluffyness of the rice and you can really taste the flavor of everything very cleanly.
Without me writing more on this place, it's best you check out this video done by a local Brit who speaks Malay in this video. Very popular guy among the locals nowadays. Sorry for English speakers, but you can watch this video for the food :D
