Food Blog: The Best International Buffet I Had In Singapore at Ritz-Carlton Hotel

in #foodphotography6 years ago (edited)

I am more than sure many of us love to eat. But the problem is, a good meal is definitely not cheap and probably going to burn a hole in your pocket. Well, having to be living in Singapore for quite a while now, I found out the ultimate money saving secret of how Singaporean able to enjoy extremely high-quality food without breaking the bank.

Before I move right forward to reveal the secret, I would suggest you guys bring on a box of tissue with you. Just in case you're drooling all over your shirt while looking at these extremely tempting looking food photos.

Without delay, let's dive right in!

If you're aware of the title of this article, you probably have noticed that it is about a buffet. That's right! The secret is buffet! To give you an idea, Singapore is a competitive and fast-moving paced country. The high competition around here especially F&B industry brings so much of benefits to the consumer. Thus, it's definitely not a surprise to find many 1-for-1 buffets circulating around on social media platforms and seeing mass flyers flying around your neighborhood. To make things even better, most of the credit card provider often compete with extremely crazy deals for buffet lovers. At times, I wondered, if it's even real?

Since I am a foodie, there are absolutely no reasons for me not to try this buffet out! Turns out, it is the best buffet that I ever had in my life!

My first impression was definitely the classy ambiance of the restaurant and also the extensive selections of food surrounding the whole compound. Among all of these amazing choices, the seafood bar is the highlight for those who love seafood and especially for those who wish for an unlimited supply oysters that are freshly shucked right in front of your eye.

IMG_6962.JPG

For me the best part of the seafood bar is for sure the freshly shucked plum and juicy oysters, considering that I'm an oyster fanatic. Besides, the seafood bar is constantly being replenished with fresh seafood from the kitchen. Having seafood like King crabs, crayfish, langoustine, lobsters, clams, and mussels have never been that pleasurable.

IMG_6936.JPG

Not to exaggerate, I probably have the most oysters here at one night compare to my entire life. The plump and juicy oysters with just a touch of citrus are just marvelous. Instead of being the chatty me, I was extremely silent and focus on devouring these oysters and wanting to replenish them in no time.

Next, my second favorite is the Japanese station. Tonnes and tonnes of sashimi and sushi are being displayed so beautifully, waving to me to grab a bite of them.

IMG_6938.JPG

Honestly, if you're a smart eater, you should know that sashimi is the second most expensive item that comes after fresh seafood like King crab and oysters. Importing fresh sashimi like tuna belly, salmons and different fish from Japan may really cost a fortune. Thus, it is not a surprise that you'll even see a queue where people are lining up to fill up their plates with loads and loads of sashimi.

Besides seafood, I do love western cured meats. Luckily Colony is packed with different cuts of charcuterie to satisfy my cravings. However, if you haven't tried any of those cold-cuts, this is your chance. I am more than glad that Colony actually put in so much efforts to import extensive selections of cured hams from all over the European continent. From the classic Iberico chorizo to the premium prosciutto ham will leave you speechless.

I know it doesn't sound convincing for foie gras to be served in restaurants most of the foie gras activist out there, but, I gotta say it's a choice for a person. Personally, I am not a fan of any livery or irony tasting food to linger in my mouth. Thus, I chose to avoid it. But, this foie gras tasted really good according to my partner's taste bud. The fact that they put in so much effort to pair it with the in-house special made sauce to cut out the gaminess yet retaining the creaminess of the foie gras is definitely worth a try.

Next, never miss the Singaporean signature Chinese barbecue. Different roasted goodness like, roasted pork belly with the crackling skin, soy sauce chicken and the glistering roasted ducks that are dripping down with fatty juices at the bar counter. It is hard for anyone to resist a good plate of roasted delights, especially everything is de-boned for your convenience.

IMG_6950.JPG

Also, no one leaves without trying Singapore's national dish "Chili Crab". The Chinese work fried meaty crab with the sweet and sour gooey sauce with a hint of chili spice is hard for anyone to resist. Trust me, it's a must to try! Grabbing a plate of fried mantou, dipping into the pack a punch gravy is absolutely a satisfaction. Of course, if you're more on a rice person, there are assorted signature Wok-fried dishes for you to feast on.

Don't forget to check out the noodles station where you can pick and choose your favorite toppings for the chef to prepare your own bowl of customized noodles soup.

Finish up your meal with the plethora choices of sweet treats from these irresistible looking chocolate muffins and tarts to in-house made green tea and dark chocolate truffles. Feast yourself with the one and only champagne sorbet.

Oh my goodness look at those oysters! And Sashimi! And chilli crab!

They are so beautiful, isn't it? You couldn't believe how many oysters I had in one night. I lost count. The only thing about the sashimi was, I hope it's thicker slice so that I don't have to replenish my plate for so many times. Hahaha.

Here, take my upvote and follow haha :D all those seafoods look delicious ! :) Also I just realized I've never had oysters :/

Thank you so much for the support! You gotta try it!! It's going to be pretty weird for your first try because it's a little slimy and it's so juicy. But, I am pretty sure you're going to like it :)

Well done on the food photography!
