Health-Packed Lunch
A few years ago I had my mini garden on the balcony in the middle of the city. It was meant to be a hobby more than an actual food supply but it was fun and interesting to watch the cherry tomatoes, basil, rosemary and other herbs grow. And the lunch always tasted great.
Moving to a bigger city with a different climate while getting a busier job meant giving that up, but we all have priorities to make.
Most vegetables in Dubai are imported and quite expensive and they never taste as good as the fresh ones.
But still, if I had to make a pick, salads are on the top of my food list, maybe with some grilled meat in the side.
Salads don't have to be boring. With a bit of creativity, you can make diverse and nutritious meals, especially if you have a luxury of having a garden at home. I obviously don't have this option in Dubai but I still like to live and eat healthy.
This grilled vegetable Mediterranean salad was my perfect choice for a tasty meal today.
I think living in this city made me appreciate natural food more than ever before.
