Food Photography Challenge - Late Night Nachos

For my entry into today's foodphotography challenge, I am sharing a photo that I took last night while my girlfriend and I were making an evening snack. We had both just gotten back home after having a celebratory Canadian Thanksgiving dinner with our families; even after all of the turkey and desserts that we had eaten, we were both really hungry for some nachos!

Rather than using the more conventional tortilla chips, we opted to slice up and bake some potatoes in the oven instead. We find that those are much less salty than potato chips and we enjoy the taste just as much! While those were baking in the oven, we sliced up a chicken breast into small pieces, seasoned it with a bit of salt and pepper, and cooked that in a frying pan. We also sliced up some red and green peppers, onion, and some tomato, which we fried up in a frying pan too. Once the potatoes were nearly baked, we sprinkled on the chicken and the vegetables.

Of course, nachos wouldn't be complete without some cheese! So next we shredded up some cheddar cheese, sprinkled it on top of the potatoes, chicken and veggies, and threw everything back into the oven for a few more minutes to ensure the food was adequately cooked.

Once that was done, we threw them onto a plate and voila!
