First Leg Advantage
Uefa Champions' League Quarter Finals kicked off yesterday and the matches were exciting.
Liverpool started with Porto while Tottenham played Manchester City in their new stadium.
It was a good match which started brightly for Manchester City and they dominated early proceedings. It was going well for them as they even got a penalty call go in their favour. With the help of the VAR, the referee pointed to the spot and Aguero stepped up.
Unfortunately for City, Sergio Aguero missed from the spot due to Hugo Lloris exploit. He duly saved his attempt and City lost their rhythm from that moment.
Tottenham grew into the game and they had several opportunities to go ahead but it was not to be, until Son's moment of brilliance came in the 78th minute. He tracked the ball that was already heading out and kept it in. He drove inside and then unleashed his shot that went straight into the back of the net.
The stadium erupted and Tottenham took charge of the first leg advantage.
In other news, Liverpool won Porto by 2 goals. The first one was a wonderful effort from Keita while Firmino added gloss to the score line to give Liverpool a commanding first leg advantage.
Things are shaping up already but we all know that anything can happen in football. I look forward to Manchester United v Barcelona and Juventus v Ajax tonight. It would be wonderful and as usual, I will share my view and analysis tomorrow.
