What A Response!
On Friday, Liverpool set the bar so high when they thrashed Norwich City by 4 goals to 1. They go top on 3 points and of course a better goal margin of 3 as well and everyone has been waiting for the response of the Champions, which they did in an emphatic fashion.
Manchester City took on West Ham and I already know the match would turn out but I never imagined the scoreline. Manchester City ran riot just like Liverpool did. I hope we are not warming up for another two horse title race hahaha because the two of them are not reducing the tempo so early on in this season. Everyone knew the importance of starting the season early with a bang due to the tiny details that decided the title last year.
Gabriel Jesus opened the score in the 25th minute before Sterling picked up from where he left off with a goal in the 51st minute. He added gloss to the scoreline in the 75th minute to put the game beyond all doubts.. Aguero decided to get on the score sheet too with a penalty and the star of the night rounded up his hat trick in the injury time of 90 minute to make it 5-0.
As we have seen all through last season, Manchester City leapfrogged Liverpool to go top with a better goal difference of 2. This season promises to be exciting and I look forward to seeing how it all plays out.
