Infantino Returns As FIFA President

FIFA president, Gianni Infantino has returned to the office after winning the election conducted on Wednesday unopposed.

Following the February 5 deadline, Infantino was the only one who had submitted his intention to contest.

His re-election means he would be in charge when the World Cup in 2022 takes place in Qatar for the first time ever in November/December.

Infantino has overseen the expansion of the World Cup to 48 teams to start at the 2026 World Cup while the International World Club Cup will be expanded to 24 teams by 2021.
