Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino has been hit with a two-game touchline bane by the FA following his explosive exchange with referee, Mike Dean, in the wake of his team's loss to Burnley last month.

Tottenham lost 2-1 to the Clarets on February 23 and Pochettino approached the official after the match, raging into him despite efforts to make him walk away.

The Tottenham boss looked displeased at a corner kick awarded to Burnley, which led to the opening goal by Chris Wood but reacted angrily afterwards by comments made by Mike Dean.

The Argentine has subsequently apologised and admitted that he was in the wrong. This did not still stop the FA from handing him a Two-Match touchline ban and a £10,000 fine.

Pochettino interestingly hinted about the possibility of this ban during the pre-match conference before the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash which Spurs won 1-0 at Borussia Dortmund to qualify 4-1 on aggregate.

The loss to Burnley signalled a possible end to their title challenge which was followed by a 2-0 loss to Chelsea before forcing a draw against North London rivals, Arsenal, last weekend.

Following the ban, Pochettino is set to be absent when Spurs travel to St. Mary's to face his former team, Southampton and the trip to title contenders, Liverpool afterwards.
